What is the Pride Storytelling Project cohort up to, you may ask?!

We've brought together this timeline to share our progress with you. So many exciting updates to come. We hope you'll engage with us over the next few months in person at Arts Walk in April, at our Pride booth in June, and for our final cohort share-out event in June.

What is the cohort up to and when?

January

  • Project development
  • Archival and library research
  • Initial informal interviews

February

  • Cohort members conduct 1-2 interviews
  • Cohort learns about trauma-informed interviewing techniques and practices with recording equipment

March

  • Cohort members conduct 1-2 interviews and begin transcription process
  • Identify themes from interviews

April

  • Cohort members conduct 1-2 interviews
  • The cohort identifies related ephemera
  • Arts Walk engagement event Friday, April 25th, and Saturday April 26th

May

  • Cohort transcribes and edits interviews and prepares materials for archiving and public programming
  • Plan for community share-out during Pride month

June

  • Celebrate Pride Month with a community share-out event
  • Finalize all media for archiving
  • Capital City Pride engagement event
  • Think ahead to Year 2 of the cohort

A community oral history project about visionaries and change-makers. Join a cohort to gather the stories or engage with us at artist talks, exhibits, workshops, and performances.
